Travel - 20 June 2007

I am a 50 year old lady who dresses well but refuses to buy too many expensive designer things, and I would like to know about styles, casual, beach and for bouzoukia in Greece this summer. I will also be attending a baptism. I already have city shorts with crossover tops, white skirts, black and white prints for top and bottom, espadrilles, big sunglasses and lots of head scarves and headbands. What else? Is there a website with magazine pictures of fashion? I am not going to buy a whole new wardrobe, but a few key pieces would be OK. I am not fat, but not skinny like a 25-year old either, short and naturally blonde (ok, grey, these days!!!).

Seeing a Korean couple kiss in public is a rare event. If they do smooth it is a slight peck unlike in Canada where couples do not have a problem "expressing their love" in public. I am not against it. I am curious as to why they don't do it.

Im 25, I have a good job in Local Governement in the UK, but I dont have a degree. All my friends are in the same boat, we all work for great employers, who pay us a good salary, we are successful, we have our own flats, we have cars, and I have never been so Bored with my life.
I am so tired of the UK, its weather, its people, everything. I have wanted to emmigrate to US, or Austrailia for a while now, and although our three countries are the closest in terms of culture, I have found out it is virtually impossible for me to be able to emmigrate.
Friends and Family say at 25 that i should just settle down, start a family, buy a house... I feel like I cant breathe and that if I dont make the move to the USA now I will never live out my dreams, and then after seriously looking into it, I am told it is virtually impossible for british to obtain work permits, unless they are doctors/nurses etc.. I feel so frustrated at this system, and im at a loss. Any advice greatfully recieved...

My girlfriend went to Italy and she calls me maybe every other day if I'm lucky with a payphone and calling card. Her cell does not work, she cannot use the internet for some reason. It takes 5-10 days for a letter to possibly get through because from what I have heard Italy is bad with their mail? I missed her call yesterday when I lost signal walking into a bank for 5 minutes, YAY now I have to wait a day or two more to hear from her, and then she only can talk for like 2 minutes. I have no idea whats going on, how her days are going, if shes eating ok, has enough money, lives in a safe place, has transporttion, etc, etc.

Is there a good way for her to communicate with me that you can think of I'm fresh out of Ideas. Even though letters take forever I'm still sending them.

I am trying to get some advice on some fun places to take a 5 yr. old boy in NYC for 2 days. I live near NYC and know the Mahattan quite well, but wanted to get some advice from other people on where to take my son, July 5th and 6th. Depending on weather would think Natural History Museum and other surrounding things on the Upper West Side (IE. I am taking my girlfriend on a Harbor Dinner Cruise for her birthday. It'll be her first birthday since we started dating and I want to make the most of everything. She is getting flowers at work, so that's covered and we'll be staying over-night and going to the beach the next day. -- She's never been on a boat before but loves the ocean and is excited about going on the cruise ride.
