anybody ever been on the mount wahington cog railways in mount washington, new hamphire? It's a 3 hour tour but i am wondering what it is like and if it is worth the $$?

I went on it a few years ago & thought it was the most excrutiating trip I have ever experienced. You get covered in soot from the coal engines if the wind is right. Don't waste your money. The Alpine Slide at Attitash is much more exciting. North Conway is great for shopping

It is worth it but go on a day that the weather is going to be clear and sunny all day. If you go on a cloudy day you won't be able to see as far and the view is what is is all about. Bring a sweatshirt because it is colder at the top.

I think it's worth it. It was one of my favorite parts of a recent trip to NH. If you have kids with you I think they will like it too. Most of the group we were with had a nice time.
