To re-elect Dr. Kalam we do not need any number points. Show me any other President or Leader in any other country who equals to him.
A good and capable man as leader is always better than a shrewd politician.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, present President of India, is the undisputed father of India's missile programme.
He has breathed life into ballastic missles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India's missile range.
It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam's achievements to date. In the '60s and '70s he was a trail blazer in the space department. In the '80s he transformed the moribund Defence Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team. By the '90s Kalam emerged as the czar of Indian science and technology and was awarded the Bharat Ratna. His life and mission is a vindication of what a determined person can achieve against extraordinary odds.

If you go through the history of India, no President has been able to solve any problem facing the country as the President of India is merely a rubber stamp and he is not ruling the country. Hence it does not make any sense to find out what Dr.Abdul Kalam has done to justify 2nd term for him.

see, india is a country in which the president does not have legitimate power as the prime misnister does.he is more of a post to exist because of the name of the republic. u should complain to mr. manmohan singh about problems in india! as not officially but practically he is the first man of india. doctor apj abdul kalam is a great scientist and is the father of indian atomic physics. he is just the right person!its better to have a calm and quiet and respectable president like him instead of having one like Gorge Bush who is destroying the world with his stupidity and selfishness

How do you expect one person to excel in all field. We are responsible for choosing these politicians as our gaurdians of the nation. They are the ones who are responsible for the development of the country. They have to do deal with crime and poverty problems and to some extent we ourselves are responsible as we choose them as our leaders. Perhaps you are not aware that Sh. A PJ Kalam, Missile Man of India, has done so much proud to India. He definitely deserves the second term. In our democratic set up, the role of the President of India is very limited. Despite his limitations, he has contributed so much to the nation that we all must salute him.

After working for two decades in ISRO and mastering launch vehicle technologies, Dr. Kalam took up the responsibility of developing Indigenous Guided Missiles at Defence Research and Development Organisation as the Chief Executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP).
3. He was responsible for the development and operationalisation of AGNI and PRITHVI Missiles and for building indigenous capability in critical technologies through networking of multiple institutions. During this period he led to the weaponisation of strategic missile systems and the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in collaboration with Department of Atomic Energy, which made India a nuclear weapon State. He also gave thrust to self-reliance in defence systems by progressing multiple development tasks and mission projects such as Light Combat Aircraft.
4. As Chairman of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) and as an eminent scientist, he led the country with the help of 500 experts to arrive at Technology Vision 2020 giving a road map for transforming India from the present developing status to a developed nation.
5. Dr. Kalam has served as the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, in the rank of Cabinet Minister, from November 1999 to November 2001 and was responsible for evolving policies, strategies and missions for many development applications. Dr. Kalam was also the Chairman, Ex-officio, of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) and piloted India Millennium Mission 2020.
Dr. Kalam took up academic pursuit as Professor, Technology & Societal Transformation at Anna University, Chennai from November 2001 and was involved in teaching and research tasks. Above all he took up a mission to ignite the young minds for national development by meeting high school students across the country.
In his literary pursuit four of Dr. Kalam's books - "Wings of Fire", "India 2020 - A Vision for the New Millennium", "My journey" and "Ignited Minds - Unleashing the power within India" have become household names in India and among the Indian nationals abroad. These books have been translated in many Indian languages.
