many to choose from,were is the best place to have a holiday and why...price does not count....any place in the world

I'm leaving for the Philippines on December 13th, 2006. I've checked both Unitied Airlines & Philippines Airlines Websites, but I''m still so confused about the measurements for Carry-On Luggage! They make no sense to me.

They all say this: 9" x 14" x 22"

What does that mean exactly? Is 9" the width? 14" the height? And 22" the length???

The dimensions of the bag I'm considering for carry-on is:

Length: 19" inches. Height: 12" inches. Width: 7" inches.

It's like a duffel bag almost, but a bit more square. Will this be okay? I don't want to get to the airport and then have to check my carry-on bag underneath, it's going to be a 25 hour flight...

I'm leaving for Cuba tomorrow and wanted to bring my Spanish bible along with me. I've heard that they're more relaxed about it now but I'm still wondering... will they take it away from me at the airport? Or will I get in some sort of trouble? What about an English Bible? We have never been but we are like 3 hours away and where thinking of driving up in the near future for the weekend but every one ive talked to said its a zoo in there way too crowded to enjoy.Any body been and know a good time to go i know not during summer.
