obviously "touristy." I don't want to do the same old crap that everyone who comes to England does, i.e., Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, etc. Yawn...

My mom is from England, so I'm trying to get in touch with my roots, so to speak. I'm in my early 40's, so I'm not into the club scene. Love cultural attractions, architecture, shopping, arts, quaint villages, history, etc. I've never been to England, and I would probably spend about a week there if I go.

I think of a both side Union! If these countries put away all their conflicts they could probably run a union that could be better than the E.E. They are located in the best place on Earth, in the center of the world ( Medditeranean ). They want each others' land but what if they share it and not try to claim it?! Imagine what a big tourism could be managed. I think, and we also see it in history, that if only one country owns these lands then it would powerful(Roman,Byzantine,Ottoman empire)! And that's the reason why the two countries cannot develop & achieve great aims!Cause they live in a divided place. This is a great idea, a Union! A social movement could manage it, cause politics does not seem to do something.
Turkey and Greece together wouldn't be a Great Power?
With a total population of 80-100 million its like making a Germany but in the greatest place of the world. It would attract the worlwide interest! But it could also bring the 3rd World War( WWIII)!!!

What do you think?

I'm headed to Germany (Berlin specifically) around New Year's. I'm just wondering if people who visit/live there have suggestions of things to do. What was the best thing you did there? I'm not a huge cathedral/museum type person, but I really enjoy cool restaurants or bars, offbeat sights or experiences, local color. Any suggestions?

I'm from the Colorado area and I'm wondering about fun stuf to do in Denver, but not necessarily the normal stuff (museums, the mint, the zoo, etc.) Cool restaurants or bars, offbeat sights, weird activities, local shops, events, whatever. Also, links to travel guides that might feature this kind of thing would be great. Tanks!

also, why are the portion sizes so small? When I went to McDonalds there, I asked for a regual coke and regual fries, instead it turned out to be a kiddie size coke and a kiddie size fries. In the states, the portion size so much bigger.

Hi guys. Would greatly need your help in this. I would like to get stuff from japan(toys, magizines etc). I do not have a japan bank account and it greatly restricts the websites that I can buy from. Does anyone know of any payment service where the person will be able to help me pay for my items?

Another way would be to get a local japan bank account in japan(shinsei/citibank) but I don't have an ARC so I can't open one.

Anyone have any advise? thanks
