Most light swtiches in the Philippines are vertical. If you have seen a horizontal switch, maybe the electrician who did that is just a beginner.

well, based on what we use in our house, i can say yes.

our light switch's label is National, and it's horizontally oriented.

but i've seen a lot of vertical switches here as well.

anyways, even if your switch is horizontal, you can flip it at a 90-degree angle so that it has a vertical orientation.

to wrap this all up, there are horizontal switches but not all switches are horizontal, some use vertical too.

nice question btw.

It depends on what you prefer visually. Here in Australia we export a lot of electrical switchgear product to Asia. All our switch plates (the plastic part that holds the switch) can be installed either horizontaly or vertically you just pop out the switch mechanism and put it back in the orientation you want into the switch plate and screw it to the wall. For us the switch will be installed for the rocker to operate down for on and up for off.

I haven't noticed that. I guess it depends on which part of the Philippines you are. Most (if not all) of the light switches in Cebu and Mindanao that I've visited are vertical.

As I look around here, there are vertical and there are horizontal switches too. Assuming that your question is correct, it does imply that some businesses are selling products not in consonance with government product standard.

Well if the xbox is vertical, the right vent can let heat out. If it is horizontal, the right vent and the bottom vent can let heat out. I dont have an xbox, but i got his information from your question. It doesnt make much sense the way you said it.
