I've been in Korea for 5 years and always felt as if these Koreans look down on me, because I'm South African. The Americans and Canadians get paid more for doing less and so on and so on...
But hard work recently paid off when I was put in charge of all the Foreign English Teachers at my school. My whole outlook on life has changed. Do you think we are looked down upon or do we have an inferiority complex? And why do we have to prove ourselves to get any respect. And don't blame our leaders. They have nothing to do with how we feel, but they do have a hand in how we are portrayed.

Somebody recently asked why South Africa doesn't have a name like Canada or England. And why is the name of our country actually just a direction. Well, for those with clear heads this morning, what's your take? And can you suggest some other name. Another fun question, guys! No need to argue. And if you feel as if RSA is still ok, then be creative and suggest anything else for the sake of answering a fun question for once.

I've heard about Nigerian scams and I'm trying to see if this will be one. The person says it's his address. I want to know if that's true. Or if there is a way to find the address myself.

I have noticed lately that there seems to be A LOT of people that live in San Diego that just moved from the Bay Area. I have especially noticed this at this college-aged church group that I attend services with near SDSU. At least half of the girls and some of the guys that I have met in this group were from some city in the Bay Area. The reason why it bothers me is because all of these Bay Area transplants are very braggy about where they are from and braggy about everything else. All they do is talk about how "pretty" the Bay Area is and how much better it is than So Cal. If it is "so much better" up there, then why the hell do they all move down here? Why do they choose to go to college down here when the Bay Area supposedly has better schools (such as Cal and Stanford)? I know that it is wrong for me to judge them, but I can't help it. These former Bay Area residents tend to be so self-centered (even at church!) and arrogant. Why do they come down here?

I'm a recent grad from nursing and was hoping to travel and nurse. I'd love to travel around Europe and thought a fun place to use as my home base would be London. Over the past few weeks though I've heard some bad things about nursing in the UK. Things such as poor wages, poor working conditions and lack of responsibilities/allowance to perform many of the nursing skills I do here in Canada. Help me please with any of your opinions. I'd like to find out as much as I could before I head over or if I should even head over. Thanks!!

I have been dating an Irish man for a while now (he is in the process of a divorce, which in Ireland, takes 4-5 years, he has at least 2 years remaining, thus we cannot marry). Well, we just found out we are pregnant! We are thrilled, but I'm concerned about getting to stay with him. He has a great job and owns a home in Ireland, but I am only a student at the moment (in the US).

I'm going over in a few weeks with a Student Work Visa. This keeps me in the country for a few months legally. I'll need to petition to extend my stay-- can I do that just by saying I'm pregnant and the father is Irish and I want to stay with him?

Also, after the birth, seeing as my child will be an Irish citizen, can I easily receive permission to remain in the state (chances are that I will seek out post-grad education in Ireland anyways, but I need time to recover from the birth) with my Irish child and its Irish father? I'm not looking for citizenship, just residency/permission to remain. Possible?
