Neither. It's just east of center and a LOOOONG way from either coast.

It is east of the Mississippi river, closer to the East Coast than the West Coast, but a long way away from either.

Geographically it is in the Mid West.
The way people act is closer to a East Coast attitude than a West coast one. It feels like NYC with a lot of mexicans and poles.
