The Irish pub wins hands down, thats it question over!what an atmosphere and much more friendly. You always get Irish people in an Irish pub(around the world) but never many americans in the american pubs.

Irish pubs all the way! I've been in quite a few bars in my life, all over the place too, but nothing compares to a good old Irish pub.

You can't beat a proper Irish Guinness either! I've tried that pseudo-Guinness in America, Greece and even England. You just can't beat it at home!

I look forward to getting down to my local every week with a few mates, get a few jars in me and listen to the fiddly-dees! Especially when, as soon as I walk through the door, the barman already has my pint on... crackin stuff :-)

I can't agree
I've had some of the best times of my life in Dublin pubs but the craic was equally as good in Galway and sometimes the memory is longer lasting. A rainy day in Galway city and you dart into Sally Longs and the fire is on. Sit up on a high stool at the bar with a pint and a hot whisky and listen to the trad playing in the corner while your great coat steams on the back of your chair
Fantastic memories

Ohh aye we do have the best pubs but sure we take our pubs seriously don't we! I went to an 'Irish bar' in Cancun once called Paddy O'Briens wearing a Down GAA shirt (not from Down btw just had it on). The waiters kept saying to me "Manchester, Manchester" thinking it was a United shirt. People started coming in and asking them if they were going to show the All Ireland final (Tyrone and Armagh that year) but the waiters didnt even know where Ireland was. They were all wearing green shirts with shamrocks on them though...
