Travel - 28 August 2006

My girlfriend and I are planning a short trip the Grand Canyon this coming weekend. I was just inquiring as to what else is there to do than stare at the canyon? It's a 5 hour drive or so, so around 10 hours round trip, just want to make sure it's worth it.
I heard it's only 2 hour more onto Vegas so we might do that, but I would perfeer to not have the 7 hour drive home. Any suggestions of what to do at the Grand Canyon or other places to visit that are near Phoenix, AZ?

I am trying to go to santa monica and beverly hills (if possible) from LA by train or bus. Do you recommend any particular lines? I probably start at Union St. Also, can anybody give me an estimate if I were to take a cab to these places?

I am trying to drive up to LA to pick up my friends at union station, but I want to park my car while I am sight-seeing. i actually plan on it when im 18 or 19, something like that. its just my parents are not supporting me and i want to go to college i want to be a vet. its just u have to go for 7 or 8 years by then i will be 26 and trying to find a job in a foreign country would be hard, at least i think it would. so should i go b4 college and skip a year or 2? but what if i really like it? should i go to college there? im not rich or anything so its going to cost a lot of money either way.i guess im not sure so what would u do?

i want to move to another country, probably permanently or at least for a long period of time. i would like to live in a place that is relatively easy to move to. i'd prefer a place with nice warm weather, some place where i can live for cheap and find a job. i was thinking about italy but i heard it's virtually impossible for non-italians to find a job with a decent salary. also i've heard puerto rico is nice but supposedly the crime rate is very high. any ideas on good places to move?
