I'm in the purchase of a pistol(s). There are two pistols that have caught my eye...the Desert Eagle .50AE and the Taurus 24/7 OSS. .45 caliber. I really like both hand guns so much I'm really looking into buying both. Why is there so much price difference between both hand guns? Realyzing the obvious of caliber size. Is it much like buying a 8 cylinder exotic car and a 12 cylinder exotic? the same as a .45 and .50 and or will i be paying for the name "Desert Eagle .50"?

I live in LA. if there are any gun shops that you would recommend that will also be appreciated.

First time buyer but not first time user....

Heres some questions...
1. Does your finish/paint on the feed ramp wear off easily?
2. How much did you get yours for? Condition?
3. Which is more accurate, German mauser or Yugo mauser?

Well I went to Academy and saw 2 3/4 inch shells and 3 inch shells. The 2 3/4 inch shells were about 2 dollars cheaper. What is the difference and which would you reccomend for duck hunting?

I took a shooting training class once but haven't shot for a while. I took my gun out the other day to the range and found I consistently shot low to the target. I think it's the way I am holding the gun after I pull the trigger or as I am pulling the trigger. Can someone tell me if I should just let the gun go up as it fires, or should I use some force to keep the gun steady from popping up when it fires?

I have a pair of Asolo FSN 85 boots that I truly love. I have about 300 miles logged and they feel great. I am looking to buy a few more pairs of boots now and break them in this winter so I have backups ready for an AT thru-hike.

Recently I tried on the Vasque Breeze and they felt great...but I'm about a size 12.5 and the 12 is too small, 13 is too big.

The salesman had me try a size 13 narrow, which felt about perfect - notably more comfortable than the first time I tried the Asolo's.

My question is this: I overpronate and have never worn narrow shoes before. I'm wary of starting now since I've never needed them before. Is there a significant difference between the narrow and regular widths? Am I asking for trouble?

Do you have any similar experiences? What would you do: stick with more Asolo's or try out the narrow Breeze? How about the idea of switching boots to a different model in the middle of a hike?

Thanks, and happy trails!

Im going climbing with one of my guy friends and im 5'3 about 135 and he is almost 6ft and probaly has a good 60 pounds on me.

Im going to Rock'n and Jam'n. We don't have a 3rd person to anchor me down, do indoor places have devices attacted to the ground to anchor?
Im new to climbing and I think those exist, I think I remeber seeing them there when I went with my rock climbing class in school last year.

Will modern bullets and shotgun shells work essentially forever, like you can store them for a hundred years without damage?

Or will all the chemicals inside start to decay and cause some of them to misfire?

I used 15 grains of fffg American pioneer powder in a .36 naval revolver, and at point blank range only 3 out of 5 shots even managed to penetrate a 3/4 inch wood board! (don't know what type)! There was also no recoil, I know black powder creates lower preasures and all, but there was NOTHING! I think with that charge this weapon is supposed to penetrate 4 inches of wood, any ideas as to why it didn't even reliably penetrate 3/4 inches of wood? thanks!

What would be a good rifle to hunt deer with? Also, I want to be able to just go out and shoot with it too. My brother in law recommended a 30-06. But I'm just looking to get a second opinion. Thanks.

To be clear you can't set their gun's safety lock in advance, during, nor after the bullet that will be fired. You can't have anyone else set the safety lock of said gun at any of those times neither. Nor is any other kind of beforehand sabotage of the gun in question allowed. Thus rusting or jamming its chamber are not valid answers.

Shooting or any other kind of physical disruption of the person who will fire the gun isn't allowed neither. Wearing a bullet proof vest isn't a valid answer because that would only address the bullet after it has already been fired and therefore wouldn't stop it from being fired.

How do you stop their bullet from being fired?
