The best way to start is to ask the question, not make insulting comments.
If your question is not a smart-arsed question, you will get some good answers, along with a few nit-wits. Ask a smart-arsed question and expect a slew of smart-arsed answers.

For the most part, I've been pretty happy with answers on gun related questions on here. However, there are some supposed experts that flaunt credentials, but their answers really make me scratch my head or they seem to have an attitude. The person who I thought gave the best advice was the husband of a user named Bound (aka Bounds Hubby). He hasn't been on much for a very good reason.
There is another website I also like for firearms related questions. It is the message board associated with Petersen's magazines (Guns & Ammo, Hunting, Shotgun News, etc..). The website is http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com
Once there, go into the Shooting section. Some of the writers for the magazine frequent the board. I think the overall knowledge between Yahoo Answers and the Petersen's website is comperable, but the people on the Petersen's site seem to be much more polite and there are virtually no "anti-gun" or "anti-hunter" types on there.
Whatever your question is, I'd say go ahead and post it here. You may have to wade through the answers a little, but you will usually get good info.
