Gun must be concealable beneath a tee shirt on a hip holster, or fit in a small fanny pack (3 - 3.5" barrel). Would .45 ACP, .45 GAP, .40 S&W, or .357 SIG be adequate for up close and personal confrontation out of a short-barreled Glock, Kahr or Colt clone? Suggestions please.

I was hunting in Oregon this year for elk. I startled what I thought was a black bear, but I soon relized it was a big foot. I had the animal in my rifle sights, but I was too afraid to shoot it.Then it walked off and disapeared. I think maybe I should have shot it.

I was shooting my glock 19 9mm and I have a new round get jammed during feeding. The spent round was fully ejected, but the next round was caught at about 45 degrees, so it never got feed into the chamber. Any guesses why this happened? This isn't the same as stove-piping is it?

If the rimfire cartridge primer covers the entire base of the cartridge, it seems logical that it will.

I went deer hunting for the first time this year. I bagged a six point buck the second day of rifel seson. I'm very exited about getting head mounted (shoulder mount). It is at the taxidermy right now. It will take a few months to get back. I am concidering hanging the mout over my fireplace mantle.

A friend told me that over the fireplace is a bad spot for it becouse it will get dried out from having fires. I think it would be ok,The head will be well above the mantle and we only use the fireplace about a half dozen times a year.

Any ideas?

I just finished skinning my deer and accidently cut one of the rear leg tendons which was supporting the hanging carcass. The carcass fell to the floor and now has deer hair sticking all over the place. is there an easy way to remove that hair? I've tried using a hose with good water pressure, but to no avail. Picking them all off by hand really sucks. I would also like to find what seasoning or other additions are needed to grind up some of the deer and make my own uncased sausage.

I have a Dan Wesson .22 revolver. I shoot it at the range with the 6 inch barrel. When I come home I put on the 2 and 1/2 barrel for self defense. (Yes, I know what you are going to say about a .22 for self defense. You are wrong. My step brother accidentaly shot me when I was 14 when we were plinking. Trust me, a .22 has PLENTY of power.)

I came home from the range, and now my revolver won't shoot. I can't pull the trigger back. Usually this only happened if I put the grip screw on super tight. It usually would work if I loosened the screw. But now, even with the grip off, the gun won't work. Even with the barrel completely removed, nothing is happening. I can pull the trigger back halfway, but I can't get the hammer to drop. I think that the mainspring can be tightened but not loosened by the grip screw. I am afraid to take off the sideplate. I once took a Colt Woodsman .22 apart, and 49 springs and screws flew everywhere. What can I do?

I need to get rid of a few rodents in my backyard, and also would like to do a little small game hunting. I'm looking for a nice rifle that really handles both of those situations well. I'm looking to keep it under 200 dollars. I'm not sure if a 1200 fps velocity is what I need, but I saw that one on Cabela's website. I'm no marksman by any means, so I won't be trying to shoot from 100 yards away. Really looking to keep it simple, but I do want a decent quality rifle. Thanks, all suggestions are appreciated!

i don't understand why people make such a big deal about hunting.
we don't have this conversation when it comes down to killing a poor inncent cow so you can eat your big juicy steak everynight.
I hear so many people say it is so inhumane
all i have to say is at least the deer have a fighting chance they can run away (well they can if they are not standing in my sights)
the cows are fenced in and can't go any where no that inhumane.

all i have to say is get grip eat up and be happy
it's a sport get over it

I got lots of helpful info. people seem to think that a semi auto will jam up. I had that problem with a sterling .22 pistal. don't want that to happen in a bad situation. So lets say I get the pump 410 shot gun. any preference on brand name. I do plan on using it several times. since my freinds like to go shoot clay pidgeons. so I will also be using it for that purpose.
thanks chris ps please tell me what to expect to pay. and what is a good deal etc. as far as price goes.
