I was hunting in Oregon this year for elk. I startled what I thought was a black bear, but I soon relized it was a big foot. I had the animal in my rifle sights, but I was too afraid to shoot it.Then it walked off and disapeared. I think maybe I should have shot it.

I always wondered what would happen if you shot Bigfoot.

Is Bigfoot considered an invasive nonnative species not subject to seasons and other hunting regulations?

What if it turns out to be some druken frat kid in a Gorrilla suit? You got a ton of lawsuits to defend for years..

Despite being a hunter myself, I have to laugh at hunters' mentality sometimes....THERES SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!! LET'S KILL IT!!!

Personally, I'd have stuffed it and stuck it in the front seat of my car so I could use the carpool lane. The expression of the other motorists would be priceless!!

In reality, I wouldn't shoot it if I ever saw it. First, I'd be worried it really was some stupid kid playing a prank. If it was real, I have no desire to become famous for killing something I can't eat and was minding its own business. I'm sure there would be lawsuits, harassment, and death threats from anti-hunter types for killing something that doesn't have a season and would probably say it should have been an endangered species. I doubt the fame and fortune would be worth it

Hey, don't let them bother you. People just won't believe what others haven't validated. You know what you saw, that's enough. Can't answer the question about the shot. It definitely would have changed your life, for better or worse...who knows? Did you have a bigfoot tag? :)

"No use crying over spilled milk." Lucky you saw what you did. That's a experience for sure. Glad for you at least. If it was a bear, could be a different story. Indians( Native Americans) I think have a story on it. Something about your soul? LUCKY & who has a similar story?

Go to the same spot next time, not with a rifle but a camera. Photo-hunt it and that would be hung on the wall as well......

I'm guessing it was a hunter bundled up really well. Bigfoot doesn't exist.
