yep depends, for hunting, a revolver, least with a 6 in barrel.
I use a SAA in .45LC
self defence, a semi auto good caliber and high cap mags
I use a Glock 21 in .45ACP w/ 13 round mags

This really depends on you as a person and what you are using it for. Automatic pistols have a tendency to jam but I prefer them over revolvers...revolvers to me are heavier and cumbersome!

kind of a strange question for the hunting section, mostly for hunting purposes, I would use a revolver. For personal enjoyment ... I like the automatics. It is a lot of fun to burn off 15 rounds in about 15 secs. :o)

Both. My duty gun is a Glock Model 20 10mm. My favorite concealed carry gun is Colt Detective Special caliber .38 Special. When I hunt I carry a wheel-gun because I can load the first two cylinders with snake shot.
Best.

I prefer semi autos, because of personal preference. I especially like the Glocks and the Colt 1911A1's. I shoot revolvers for fun, but they are second fiddle.

a good revolver will last a lifetime (or more) and very reliable, but you only get 6-8 shots usually.
I prefer the 1911, almost 100 years and very little has changed in its design.

I carry a Glock model 38 it uses a .45 Gap very concealable, shooting a handgun at close range the size of the bullet is what matters most.

it depends on what for. I have a revovler I like for hunting, but for general use, I prefer an automatic, simply because I have small hands, and the grip of a single-action auto fits my hand better.

I carry a Smith and Wesson 5904 with a 15 round clip but I also have 20 and even 30 round clips for this weapon, revolvers only hold 6 rounds and that doesn't help in a fire fight, to much reloading time
