I've been shooting a winchester model 70 7mm 08 for whitetail hunting in Michigan. So far I have only had one good look at a buck with it, but he went down on the spot. Basically I just would like to know more info about it. If I mounted a scope to it, would it be good for longer ranges? Plus I think my sights are off to the left a bit, how can I fix that? I'm a pretty good shot so I dont think its me (If I aim left of the target, I hit it).

im from mich. but i hunt in eastern ky.i usually go for a long weekend for rifle season.our property is 290 acres of wooded mountains and open field with alot of creeks.only going there once for the 4th of july for vacation, and then in nov for deer season doesnt give me any time to scout. so when im hunting its hit and miss. i use alot of scent killer but im still concerned about the wind..it seems like the wind kicks in different directions constantly..is this because of the mountains? or is there a specific way that wind blows over this kind of terrain? hunting michigan isnt nearly as complicated when it comes to wind conditions as it is there....

I would like my husband (not my son's father) to take my son hunting. But we have different opinions on when would be a good age to teach my son the basics of hunting - even just to take him along for some quality Step-dad and step-son time.

My opinion is: Take him now. Teach him the safety stuff. Just spend some good quality one-on-one time (since he rarely ever does).

His opinion: He's too young. Maybe next year.

Your opinion: ????

Thanks

For safety purposes, my house does not have any guns in case an intruder comes. But I do have an aluminum baseball bat. Will a baseball bat serve as a good weapon that can potentially stop an intruder? thankss

Im looking to get away from shotguns and go rifle. I hunt whitetail, but now bear has recently opened up in my hunting area in NY (9w). Im not a fan of hunting open fields or anything and I'm not too worried about distance as I will not take very long shots. I'm also a college student, so I would like a rifle that is inexpensive. Also, the less recoil the better lol. So what would you suggest?

I want to have ideas for new kinds of knives and guns. Being a designer kinda. I like guns and knives. I know a lot about them. For someone who is only 16 i can still tell you prolly 2x the amount of info on a knife or a gun than the common person can. I dont mean to really brag but i am just tellin the truth. so i wanna use what knowledge i have and put it to use and make a career out of it.

How can i do that?

These are handmade wooden plaques for mounting your trophy horns. Can be sent as just the plaques for you to mount the horns yourself or horns can be sent and mounted then shipped back.

I heard it was bad to clean your gun from the muzzle to the reciever. I was told that you had to clean it from the chamber until it comes out of the muzzle otherwise (if you do it muzzle first) it could damage your rifling. Is this true?

i noticed that all glocks, the clips's springs are so highly pressured that I find it "finger breaking" to load the full amount in a clip... is there a special technique to do it???

i have a 10 round clip, and i can never load exactly 10 bullets in there.. when I get to the 9th bullet, i feel like i'm going to break my thumb trying to put it in???

OK, so after two great range trips and 1000 rounds or so I decided it was time to strip and clean my new Mark III. This is a 5.5" bull-barrel model. I sat down with the user manual and started along...

Step 1 says to cock the gun, insert an empty mag, and pull the trigger to uncock the gun. Then, one is to remove the magazine.

Done.

Step 2 says to open the mainspring housing latch. No problem there.

Step 3 says to swing the mainspring housing down and pull it out, including the bolt stop pin. I had to tap out the bolt stip pin with a mallet and dowel, but done and smooth going.

Step 4 says to insert an empty mag, point the gun up, and pull the trigger...and the bolt will fall out...not good here....pulled the trigger, heard nothing...and now the bolt will only go rearward about half an inch. It does not want to come out. Reinstalling the mainspring housing does nothing to change the situation.

What did I miss, and what should I do next? This is a brand-new gun...

I have a couple questions about the 92fs Inox....

1: What speed loader to you recommend? i've seen a lot that i'm interested in, but have no experience using them. Whats your succcess?

2: Is it against the law to carry a concealed weapon in Indiana? I don't own a gun, so don't worry - i'm not a gun owner who doesn't know the law. lol

3: Whats your success using +P ammo?

Which caliber would be more effective against white tail deer (using highest grain loads) coming from a Ruger M77 Compact rifle that has a 16 1/2 inch barrel. The range will be 100-150 yards (200-225 max). What will be the muzzle velocity/muzzle energy of each? Also @ 100yards.

First off thanks for all the advice you gave me on my little .25 Jettfire.
Now, i use a Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm, for self defense. Please spare me it's not the best 9mm or gun or anyhting like that. it's a very good gun that shoots perfect at 15 -25 feet. I love it. Now besides Blazer FMJ for pracrice i need a good man stopper while walking about town ect. Im looking for a munition that IS NOT +P+ or "hot". Anyone have any ideals or experiance with this gun and a good ammo. Right now im leaning towards Federal Hydro-Shock self defense hollow point ammo.
