I want to have ideas for new kinds of knives and guns. Being a designer kinda. I like guns and knives. I know a lot about them. For someone who is only 16 i can still tell you prolly 2x the amount of info on a knife or a gun than the common person can. I dont mean to really brag but i am just tellin the truth. so i wanna use what knowledge i have and put it to use and make a career out of it.

How can i do that?

You can join the army and make weapons for them sort of thing if you get me, or you can make weapons for to Special police officers who use guns and knives and what have you. So if you can ask someone about it like a careers advisor. They might think your weird or something, but hopefully they will help..

JD has the experience to answer this question better than I . I have been a gunsmith since 1972 but did not depend on it for a living. It is a tough way to make a living. You would be better off doing it in a small way in your garage or basement as a additional income than set your hopes on it being your only money maker. If you are really good and can attract national attention then you might be able to make a living. After going to gunsmith school you should try to apprentice yourself to a knife maker or another gunsmith. You will need a job on the side to live on tho. Good Luck, some have made it.

If you really are interested in making guns and knives, I would suggest you go to an accredited Gunsmithing School like I did. They will give you the knowledge, skills , hands on training, machining skills and education that will need to get your foot in the door for a career in Gun-making and Knife-making. Much of the equipment you would use in Gunsmithing school would be the same equipment that you would use for making guns and fabricating gun parts. It is expensive, but there are many grants that are available to help pay your tuition and costs for these schools. This would be the perfect place for you to get started..Good Luck

P.S. Check out the Internet for Accredited Gunsmithing Schools......

attend one of the gunsmithing schools and get enough experience that you can go to work for any of the companies as a designer, or go to work for a gun shop, or open your own business. Don't expect to rush right in, it takes a lot of experience to be good at it.
Good luck

Get an engineering degree first. Then start looking for employment in firearms manufacturing.
