Hi,I am a city girl born and raised in Philadelplhia, Pa. I like fishing, hunting and the out doors in general. I have a lot of girl friends, but none that are interested in hunting or fishing. They can't imagine trudging through the woods, getting dirty, getting there hands messy (would mess up their fresh manicures) or shooting an animal. It's too icky for them. There is nothing weird about that. It is about you doing what you enjoy. You continue to do the things that you like to do. Your are probably more stress free than they are too!

To be honest most hunters now live in the city or residential neighborhoods.
I would put the number of "city dweller" hunters at 60% or more depending on the state.
If a country living family (a.k.a a farm family) has 3 children. Chances are that not all 3 will go into farming. So eventually you get people who were raised country to be living in the city. Same with hunters.

I'm a downtown boy that spent many weekends at my grandfather's place in the country hunting, so I understand.
City people have a lot of wrong ideas about stuff they think is country and vice-versa.
Tell your friends they don't know what they are missing and that they should open their minds....it's a big world out there and lots of things can be learned and enjoyed if one approaches life with an open mind.

yeah, same here!
I used to live out in the country with tons of red necks and hicks haha. But then I moved to the city, and didn't even become interested in hunting at all until I moved! So it's not wierd, my friends think i am haha, but not really.

You are the normal one, your friends are the strange ones here. Next time your friends get on your case about hunting, ask them where their beef, chicken, pork or fish came from, did the animal just volunteer its flesh for their dinner or did someone have to kill it. What about their leather coats, purses, belts and shoes, did the cow just walk up to a tanner and say, take the skin off my back for your wares. Someone had to kill and skin the cow. At least the meat you kill isn't filled with growth hormones and steroids like grocery store meat is. While your friends are spending a good portion of time and money having "excess" hair waxed and removed, you won't, simply because the meats you kill don't have the growth hormones and steroids injected into them. There;s a direct link between the 2 by the way.

There's nothing wrong with living in the city and/or being a girl and liking hunting. You're perfectly normal.

I am originally from the city too. I've lived in several cities over the years and always managed to find time to hunt, fish, and go camping.

Sounds to me like you friends are the ones with the personal problems if they are going to rag on you because you like hunting. I know lots of people that are "City Dwellers" that love getting out in the country and hunting. Ignore them and what they say and GO FOR IT!....

Yea its ok, you're friends are the ones thats weird. They're too much of a "pretty girl" to do something real that doesn't involve retarded fashion. I hunt daily during the seasons...deer, turkey, rabbit, dove, and occasionally will tree coons. Don't worry bout it, you're the better girl.
