I would say the Kimber was the better pistol but my brother-in-law would tell you that the Colt is the better gun. It's kind of like the Ford VS Chevrolet thing. 'Some like one and others like the other. Both are good guns. Pick whichever one YOU like and you will be happy.

No, dum-dums. The OP is referring to the Colt "New" Agent, not the .38 Colt Agent. The Colt New Agent is a compact, 3" 7-shot alloy-framed .45. That being said, I would call it a toss-up between the Kimber and the Colt.

Both guns are fairly new on the market. The Colt seems to be priced a little lower than the Kimber. The groove type sight on the Colt does make for a more concealable gun. But the more standard sight on the Kimber probably does make it a bit more accurate.

Be interesting to see a head to head comparison in one of the shooting magazines. Both guns seem to be about the same.

The Colt Agent is an aluminum alloyed .38 special revolver, and the Kimber is a semi auto. If I were given only these choices, I'd go with the Kimber.

That is an apples versus pineapples question.

The Colt Agent is a compact 38 SPL snubby and the Kimber is a M-1911 copy in .45 ACP.

If you prefer Colt revolvers, you will like the Agent better. If you prefer flatguns, you will prefer the Kimber.

Both are of high quality and are excellent examples of their genre.

I would take the Kimber, if you are not concerned with price. The Colt is generally less expensive, but still a very good weapon.

I carry the kimber Ultra Carry II

Excellent weapon

Most sub 4" 1911 clones can be finicky to get running correctly. Mine took a little tuning of the extractor and has been flawless for several thousand rounds, and have evn competed with it in IDPA matches... and did quite well.

run a few hundred rounds b4 using any weapon for a carry piece

UCII is light, and accurate. Mine has the Night sites. Carries nicely
