I live in Maryland and BLUE TONGUE is a nickname for EHD -Epizootic Hemorrhgic Disease..It is fatal to Whitetail Deer but is totally safe for humans as it can't be transferred thru touch or thru eating Venison, Even if the Deer is itself infected. It is a result of a Gnat Bite. It is impossible for humans to get this disease and it is 100% safe to eat vension. There is no need to panic. This disease has already been reported in 14 other states here on the east coast. It is more common than not.....
