i am only 16, am a responsible shooter and member of 4h shooting sports, the ATA, and have completed my hunter safety course, so i do know of the dangers of firearms. i wanted to start carrying a concealed weapon for when i work and other times in MD. im planning on getting a pistol soon("getting" meaning my father purchasing it and letting me use it but its still my money), to shoot in IPSC also. so i was just wondering what the age is, because ive heard of some kids my age being able to.

Hey,
I recently moved into a new apartment in a not so good area. I really feel uneasy at night especially. There have been some break-ins around the complex lately too.

Here is what I am looking for... something that isn't to heavy, cuz I'm a petite girl (5ft tall) and I don't have any prior experience with guns. I am willing to go down to the range and learn to use a gun, however I just want to know some good options so I know what to ask for at a gun store.

I'd like osmething that doesn't have a big kick back, something that I can sqeeze the trigger somewhat easy (i have small fingers) and something that wont jam up on me and leave me in a bind.

I don't know anything about the caliber of bulets or anything so be as descriptive as you can in your ideas for my first handgun.

Pistol shooting range rules, etiquette, safety, stance, how to properly shoot, aim, fire, etc.

I'm signed up for a class but they were booked up for a month so I won't be taking it until next month.

Until then, I realize safety and common sense will go a long way... but I don't wanna look stupid shooting the gun wrong or anything. Any advice for a first timer? I don't know what the "proper" way to shoot is.

we have a deer coming into our garden and eating our produce. We know it's a deer.
My question is:

Do deer feed in these sorts of situations more at night or right before dawn? I want to have a stake-out to assess and maybe deal with the nuisance.

Any advice on the eating habits of deer would be greatly appreciated.
