deer are food
mountian lions eat them
when the population is high you get more cats
the cats eat them thain there arnt many more deer
they (the cats) get hungery they start to eat our pets or children or like in califirnia joggers
thain they statve to death
its better for all of us if we manage the animal hurds by selective hunting
as far as raising food to eat just look at all the turkies and pigs that had the oppertunity to live that wouldnt have if we didnt raise them same thing with fish in utah we have 1 lake they stock with 2000 fish per weak and they do that with hundreds of them

Chris S has the best answer. I notice when I go into the city people just say Im against hunting, and then you ask them why and they say because animals are getting killed. Then they go to the corner store and buy a steak from some cow that may have been from some feedlot and not moved from its pen for the last few years.
I am a hunter, I eat what I kill and the way I see it is that the deer I killed and ate I worked for. I bought an expensive firearm and license, got up early in the morning and went out in the cold of morning, then I clean it, and butcher it. City people or non hunters see this as disgusting although they do not have a problem with it happening to livestock behind closed doors. Hypocritical.
I live in Canada and more deer are killed in motor vehicle accidents every year then hunters. As well city people dont realize that human cities, highways and towns have driven away a large portion of predator species to more secluded areas, deer without population control thrive in these areas and now cities are trying to encourage bow hunters to come in and kill the deer because of overpopulation, inbreeding and disease. The result the tree huggers show up and protest. Anyone who says hunting is wrong is uneducated and like Chris S says are seeing our perspective from a purely emotional point of view.
And that panther lady, how many different animals did that panther kill without emotion in its lifetime. We are still animals.

I live in a part of the United states that is popular for it's goose hunting. We also have some of the best deer hunting here. My husband use to do alot of hunting. It was cheaper than going to the store to buy meat.

I am for hunting because if we didn't hunt deer they would take over the country and come into the city then people would be hitting them with their cars and god only knows that would be more trouble. But they should have to eat the deer meat because it taste good.

I am for it. Though I personally do not take part in any hunting activities. As long as you eat what you kill, use the animal hides for a purpose and so on. Use as much as you can of what you kill for a purpose. If one does it just for the thrill, I am totally against it. No ones adrenaline rush is worth the life of any animal. Like I said, use as much as possible! Be responsible in use of said firearm and do not take too much of the sport out of it as it were.
Peace!!! Love!!! Health!!! Happiness!!! Well Being!!!

Generally pro hunting.
Been a shooter on & off for many years & hunted only once.
Because of diminishing wildlife habitats & natural predators, overpopulation of game animals can be something of a problem.
Would rather see deer ,for instance harvested by responsible hunters rather than see them frozen or starved to death.
Hunting / fishing license fees go to wildlife conservation .
OK w/ that.

i am for hunting. it has bee shown over and aver again that hunting is a valuable tool for game management.it keeps populations of game at a level where the areas can support it. it used to be that nature handled it with the ratios of predator vs. pray, but in our infinate wison we have killed off all of the preditors.

Wild pig hunting is very big over here. A lot of people hunt for sport, but the meat is distributed among family members and friends. I have no problems with responsible hunters who follow the rules. Because this is a place if islands, feral animals can become a problem, and hunting helps control them. What I am against are poachers and lawbreakers who do not follow the rules and put others in danger, or cause the death of a family pet by not controlling their hunting dogs.

I've noticed a common theme among the anti-hunters who have posted here. Not one of you has addressed the role that humans play in the natural scheme of things, and every one of you have made a reply based purely off of emotion. You have failed to develop any kind of rational or reasonable argument, but intsead, you just say "it is mean" (purely emotional with no logic).
When the only reason you can give to be against hunting is "because it's mean", you have failed before you even get started. It is for that reason that most anti-hunters are not taken seriously. Anti-hunters always fail to address issues like overpopulation, urban sprawl, disease and starvation, environmental degredation, lack of natural predators for most game species, auto/animal accidents, and any number of other factors that must be taken into consideration in order to form a valid opinion on the matter.
Humans are predators. We are at the top of the food chain for a reason. We require the nutrition and protien that we obtain from eating meat and fish. While fruits and vegetables are nutritious, the most healthy people have a varied diet consisting mostly of fruits, vegetables, and meat.
The argument that hunting is mean is hypocritical at best when you take into consideration the conditions in which domestic animals are killed and butchered (by the millions, I might add) in slaughter houses all over the world. I'd wager that the vast majority of people who oppose hunting still eat meat that they purchase at their local supermarket, yet they will chastize a hunter for killing a deer, turkey, or other game animal by means of a rifle, shotgun, or bow and arrow. The anti-hunters will also be the first to complain when wildlife destroy their property and eat their beautiful high-dollar plants and shrubs they have growing in their urban yards.
You people need to understand that dieing is a part of living. We don't live in some kind of cartoon world where Bambi grows up and lives forever. Nature is harsh. Dieing at the hands of a competent hunter is a much better way to go than by disease, starvation, hypothermia, or the front bumper of a mini-van.

I"m all for hunting. Why do people ask this same question all the time? You are asking in the hunting section, so you should expect to get answers that are pro-hunting.
