You'd have to have a BATF Any Other Weapon permit to get a copy of one I've seen attributed to Doc Holiday.

It was a Meteor single barrel 10 guage with the barrel cut to ten inches, and the stock cut to a pistol grip. There was a ring brazed to the top of the barrel over the chamber area. Allegedly it was used to suspend the gun under Doc's arm, under his coat.

Overall length was something around 15" or less, which is 11 inches shorter than legal minimum for non-NFA licensees to own.

Doc seemed to favor using a pair of pistols most of the time; and could shoot quite well with either hand. From what I could tell he used whatever shotgun happened to be at hand when he needed one. From the number of times he had to leave a town or area quickly to avoid a lynching it became obvious why he preferred to carry three handguns; he had to travel light and quick; and three six shot pistols gave him some firepower. Weapons were not that reliable in those days so backup was very important. Good luck on the shotgun search.
