Love the Glock subcompacts, but I actually shoot very little and looking for something less expensive. What are your thoughts on a solid, reliable, and easily concealable semi auto in 9mm or .40?

I recently purchased a Model 629 Revolver and i was talking to my friend father which used to be a gun smith. He told me that Smith & Wesson revolvers loose there timing after awhile and that some even come from the factory with bad timing. Is this true?, i even heard that the quality of Smith & Wesson revolvers are quiet poor. Has any one had any experience with any of these problems?.

Thanks, Roger.

I want to be able to scrub and wash my gun. I hate to do the tedious cleaning with just solvent. If I dry it and oil it, do I still run the risk of rusting it up? Although I want any easier way to clean it, I want to make sure I am doing what is best for it. Any lifelong gun owners with some advice?

Since my Possession Acquisition License arrived just today, I'm starting to shop for a practical pistol. I am looking for something with a full frame and chambered for 9mm, that would be suitable for IPSC shooting.

As it stands, I am considering the Springfield XD9, maybe a CZ-75 or possibly one of the Sig's. Any fadvice would be most welcome. Glock afficionados, I can respect your choice, but I am not in the market for a Glock at this time.

Thanks

We have a farm in Georgia. During deer season the rednecks (ok I’m one too, so the bad rednecks) drive slowly down the road looking for deer. When they see one, they shoot at it. At dusk, sometimes at night with a spotlight. What can I do? Short of shooting back. If I setup a fake deer and video tape them and their license plate, is that enough to prosecute them? Would you contact the sheriff or DNR guys? Any other ideas? We’ve been chasing them and shinning a light on them to scare them off. The DNR and Sheriff are understandably too busy most of the time. HELP!!

Yesterday I went to a friends house with other friends and I took some 400 yard shots at deer targets. Everyone of my 30 shots was a kill shot but the best we could do is only a Minute of Angle with custom .308 loads is their any way to get close to 1/2 MOA with a Savage 12BVSS at 400 yards.

Does anyone on here have any custom recipe for loads on the Savage .308 12BVSS for benchrest and deer hunting.

I am supposed to go snipe hunting for the first time this weekend, so I'm gonna borrow my dad's gat. I've been playing Grand Theft Auto to practice, and they hold the gat sideways. Does this help shoot better? I don't hit much when I do it.

Bound's hubby here:

This is a little bit out of the ordinary, but I have found shooters to be a very tight knit community. Three weeks ago, I almost perished in a Harley vs. Cadillac accident. I'm doing better. I would appreciate those who have known me from answers and those that have relished what I have written, say a prayer for not just myself, but my wife, my daughter, my unborn son and my step-children, so I can get where I belong very soon. And, yes, Harley Davidson trumped again a car. But from now on, I'm relying on the GMC.

Thank you all that I count as friends for your good thoughts and your well wishes. May be soon be able to again share our
knowledge and our wisdom on this wonderful forum.

2.) How expensive is a wood stock for one?
3.) Who else makes the ammo other than Hornaday and Wolf?

I'm talking to gunshop and the guy is trying to talk me into buying a Makarov 9mm. I don't know anything about guns, all I know is that this one is cheap, about $200. Is it a good gun?

Also, are hungarian and polish weapons good in general?

Thanks!
