Love the Glock subcompacts, but I actually shoot very little and looking for something less expensive. What are your thoughts on a solid, reliable, and easily concealable semi auto in 9mm or .40?

Smith & Wesson SW9VE (9mm), or SW40VE (.40 S&W). Should be able to pick up either for under $350.00. They are very reliable, very accurate, and very well made. Some people complain that the trigger is a bit heavy, but I suspect most of those folks have poor trigger control skills and blame the gun instead of themselves when they shoot poorly. I've got 2 of the .40's and have had absolutely zero problems with either of them in just over 5000 rounds through each one. They also carry a lifetime warranty.

One thing I will mention is that they are about the size of a Glock 23. They conceal pretty well under a big shirt, but might be a bit big for beach side attire.

If you don't shoot a lot, and are unwilling to spend lots of time practicing, you'd be better off with a revolver. Revolvers are not ammo sensitive, can tolerate neglect better than semi-automatics, are generally more accurate than semi-autos, and small revolvers are generally more reliable than small semi-automatics. You can also generally find excellent DA revolvers on the used gun market at good prices.

I strongly recommend Smith & Wesson's J-Frame Magnums for CCW use. I carry an S&W M-640 Centennial, it is a hammerless, 5-shot .357 Magnum revolver, it is a pocket powerhouse! Another good CCW choice would be the S&W M-649 Bodyguard, it is another stainless 5-shot .357 Magnum, but it has a shrouded hammer that can be ****** for single-action shooting.

By used on gunbroker.com, there is a Glock with current bid of $380 you won't find a reliable CCW pistol new for less. You may consider a revolver which are generally cheaper. Tuarus 605 in .357 usually is around $300 new.

Low priced .9mm or .40 S & W? I don't really like the S & W Glock Sigma 'copies.' I'd try looking for a good, used Glock Model 26 or Model 19. Sometimes you get lucky.

I've learned a long time ago, it is always best to get what you want, and not get a substitute for it. You will regret it, and it will cost you more moeny in the end. If you like the Glock subcompacts, buy one. My recommendation is that you buy the compact model instead, they are more comfortable to shoot and hit your target with. You have to practice to get good with any gun, otherwise you cannot expect to hit much with it, if the situation should arise for you to use it.

Illinois that's an similar as wearing on your individual. referred to as UUW, 720 ILCS 24-a million(a) a million as I save in options. EDIT: basically regarded it up. no longer a convicted felon that's a range A misdemeanor. it really is as a lot as a million twelve months in penal complicated; and/or superb of as a lot as $2,500 yet another edit: basically remembered Texas. when you're legal to posses a gun and a resident you could carry hid contained in the vehicle with out any a gun license of any form. should be hid. Even funnier you do not might want to tell the police if stopped yet when you're a legal CCW holder you should tell and officer when you're armed.

I carry a S&W 908 (9mm,8 in clip). it's small, light, and has a concealed hammer so it's easy to pull. Also, the first round is a double action pull so you just unholster, right thumb flick of the safety, and it's ready to go. Very user friendly as a carry weapon.

I got a Taurus PT22 pistol for that purpose. They are only $260 brand new. They are .22 caliber though. The gun is extremely small though and great for conceal carry.

The XD is an excellent gun. S&W M&P series compact also, better ergonomics.
