What makes 'em so dang pricey anyhow?

I mean...how are when compared to other optics on price vs quality?

Unertl optics are very good, and they are hand made one at a time, so there is a lot of attention to detail, however, other scope manufacturers make a good scope for a more economical price. If you are into long range shooting, professionally or if you are building a tactical rifle for use in the field, Unertl makes one of the best, but if you are mainly interested in long range shots for weekend fun, than you may want to look into the Burris XTR, or a Leupold. Both make excellent tactical mil-dot scopes.

Unertl made their name with their long, fixed optic,
micrometer mount, target scopes.
They no longer offer those scopes.
If you can find one grab it!
As to the new stuff, they're in competion, and on a par with, the other high-end makers.
