For those of you who actually watched the mythbusters episode, it's only bullets traveling at high velocities that will disentegrate. A .22 rimfire bullet travels at a speed closer to handgun ammunition.
If you shoot the gun at a steep angle, the bullet will go into the water and slow down very quickly. You may get a pretty good splash, but nothing spectaular.
If, however, you shoot the gun at a flat angle, the bullet will bounce off the water much like skipping a stone. This is not recomended as you have no control over where the bullet travels after it skips.

The .22 isn't going fast enough to disintergrate. it will hit the water and slow down really quick as it does not have much kinetic energy (hitting power). It is not a good thing to do though as things can go wrong ie richochette. Find something like a pest to shoot instead or shoot targets.
If you are planning on shooting fish, it is usually illegal to do so - just thought I would warn you

It will penetrate the water six to eight inches before sinking.. If at an angle it could ricochet and harm other people or property.. It is not a good idea to shoot into water..

Strange as it may seem water is a solid surface. A bullet fired at an angle will skip like a rock. Its not a very good idea because a bullet doesn't have a brain and will hit where ever it is aimed.

The best thing for you to do is go to a pawn shop and sell the gun for 25 dollars. It is quite obvious you are not responible enough to own, operate, or maybe even look at a gun. Your the reason the government talks about removing guns from the population.
