I am interested in purchasing a hunting cabin which would provide some income when I am not using it.
Any suggestions as to what areas provide the longest hunting seasons would be welcome as would any other advice. I do not reside in the US but am a regular visitor.

I am considering buying a gun and my wife says that is fine as long as I dont bring the gun into the house. It is going to be a small pistol and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about where to store it. Is it legal to keep it in a safety deposit box in a bank? Can I have a friend hold on to it or is that illegal? Anyone with any ideas would be great.

I inherited my uncles 12ga stevens model 77f. The last 8 inches of the barrel are warped and I have been trying despritly to find a replacement barrel.

I am now to the point of.......should I just saw off the last 8 inches?? I'd hate to do it but I can still replace the barrel if I find a new one.

I've got about $200 to blow and I'm thinking about an 8mm Turkish Mauser in full military dress, or an Armscor Model 206 snub nose 38 special. The Mauser is dated 1942, probably in NRA fair condition, and Joe wants $150 for it. The 38 is $189.97, looks like one of those old police detective revolvers, and it's new in the box. Which one would you get, or do you guys have another suggestion for my collection in this price range?

Often when questions get brought up regarding the 2nd Amendment and besides the poorly written reply that "Dude, y would ou need one?" there is always the comment: "You don't (insert gun that isn't some expensive hunting rifle) need them to go hunting."

Do you people honestly believe that the 2nd Amendment was about hunting? have we come that far from our heritage to think that hunting, not defense against tyrants, thugs, and invaders is a more valid reason?

So here's the gauntlet, I want all the people here who have no qualms about gun bans to present a strong case. I'm guessing this will be very entertaining to say the least.

I pulled old camo tape off a shotgun. It probably had been on for twenty years. On the wood, the adhesive was gummy, and cleaned off with kerosene. On the metal, though, the adhesive is hardened and it looks like I will have to scrub it off somehow. I'm currently thinking of kerosene and 0000 steel wool. Any other recommendations?
