I've got about $200 to blow and I'm thinking about an 8mm Turkish Mauser in full military dress, or an Armscor Model 206 snub nose 38 special. The Mauser is dated 1942, probably in NRA fair condition, and Joe wants $150 for it. The 38 is $189.97, looks like one of those old police detective revolvers, and it's new in the box. Which one would you get, or do you guys have another suggestion for my collection in this price range?

Whoa, last time a bought Turk Mausers they were 3 for $100.

Depending on what you're into a Mauser's nice to have. They obviously last forever, the 8MM round isn't hugely popular but it isn't scarce either, and it's functional for hunting or target shooting.

Revolvers aren't my thing but if I had to have one about that size I'd go for a .357, that way you can practice with the lighter and cheaper .38s but load up with the magnums when you need to break things.

Personal preference - If I didn't already have one I'd get a 9MM Makarov. The round's slightly shorter than the 9MM parabellum so it's easier shooting. They're still pretty cheap and it's not a bad looking pistol.

Turkish Mauser is a very poor choice.. Go with the detective revolver that is the best buy.. You can always resell it for a lot more than your going to pay for it..

If for your collection... I would go for the mauser. if for shooting... depends on what you like to shoot better. I personally like the rifles for fun. The handguns for shock.... lol

depends on what your needs are. in my opinion, one can never, ever have too many handguns.

Try buying a porno instead and go blow off some steam. or choose a random weapon and perform an maximally invasive endoscopic examination of your large colon. Cheers
