I shot my WASR-10 for the second time yesterday and somethings not right. It chambered, and cycled every round just fine, The thing is it was kicking the hell out of me! The trigger was popping me in the finger so hard it hurt and the recoil was bad enough to split a sliver of the stock off up by the rear trunion. It also blew my adapter and birdcage halfway downrange near the end of the mag!
I know it wasn't this bad the first time I shot it, I'm serios it felt more like shooting my 91/30!
I did change a few things between the first time I shot and yesterday. They are as follows, I swaped out the Dragunov stock for a standard AK stock (You know, the wood one with the cleaning kit inside), I put a Yugo pistol grip on it, it didn't have a threaded barrel so I bought one of those AK/SKS threaded muzzle adapters off of Gunbroker.com (It attaches by four set screws), and then I stuck a nice birdcage flash hider on it! Can anybody tell me what caused my gun to behave so differentl

I used a .45 caliber Norinco and the recoil was very strong , I do not like it. I always anticipate the recoil and the loundness.

I am working at a camp this summer and am selling my 300 mag because it is too expensive to just plink and has a big kick too. So I want something I can use at the range as well as to hunt.

8mmX58 rimed cartage the only reloads I can fine are the old military loads which are good loads, but this round should be more flex-able than what these loads offer the sport hunter. All my hand loader books leave this round out completely. Also the bullet weights that these loads are for are hard to fine around here. I could developed loads using these MILITARY loads, but I lack the tools to do it realislily safe: an old reloader book could have better basic information to help remove the guese work out of this process for me.

I can understand hunting for food but if you're going to hunt for sport why not at least have the guts to have a fair fight (use bare hands instead of a weapon)?

Though not interested in shooting animals, I come from a Hispanic family packed full of veterans and gun enthusiasts, and am personally still a firm believing in the right to bare arms and hate the idea of Uncle Sam telling ANY American(like my grandfather) that he must give up his guns.

My grandfather is in great health, but he is getting older and has started giving away plenty of his prized possessions; for me it was a bunch of things and included his old .38 Special revolver and his awesome WW2 era M1 Garand. The 38 special is very old, but practically new and has never even been fired. Though I am still not interested in hunting, I am now more interested in firearms and look forward to going out to the range soon.

My question is(and please keep in mind that I am someone who knows NOTHING about guns) could someone please tell me the differences between my 38 Special and other Handguns such as a .22, especially in terms of what is more POWERFUL that the other and how??

I know this has been covered many times, but isn't there a toy section in yahoo answers for all these airsoft, bb gun and paintball questions? It gets a little tiresome weeding thru all the toy questions to find real questions about real firearms and hunting. I've been to the yahoo blog and forums requesting a section just for these toys, but so far no luck, I've also asked for a section dedicated just to firearms, so the gun related questions don't clog up the hunting section, so far no luck there either, is there ANYTHING we as a community can do to get yahoo to act on these requests? Other sections in yahoo answers have numerous subsections, but we hunters/shooters don't.

Unless the gun is total crap, and I have had a couple, I can place 10 rounds, free hand, into a one inch group at 100 yards with almost anything, including my high stardard military 105 model 22 cal pistol, thats free hand. What makes a so called tack driver? I haven't been shooting for about 40 years now and after a couple of months of being back in it, I just don't understand why accuracy hasn't improved over the years.

I have read about the Savage model 12 f class 6.5 target rifle. Is it really better than a good old 45-70 with consistant loads? I remember shooting about 10" groups at 1000 yards with the 45-70. Whats the going accuracy of one of the more modern guns?

I will know more after I get back into competition, just update me on whats what nowdays.

Old retired, master. Only problem is "where the f is the target"?

In a right handed world It seems strange. The most popular revolvers from the percussion era Walkers throught the 1873 SAA Have ergonomics that suit a lefty? The loading gates & cap loading areas on these guns require a hand switch to load for most. Why does every one still make copies with the same "error."
