I am interested in purchasing a hunting cabin which would provide some income when I am not using it.
Any suggestions as to what areas provide the longest hunting seasons would be welcome as would any other advice. I do not reside in the US but am a regular visitor.

The longest whitetail deer season is South Carolina.

There are other areas of the country where people pay top dollar to be able to hunt and fish... Colorado and Wyoming are examples. I have a cabin in Colorado -- although I do not rent it out, the area is very popular among people from other states. The area is snowbound from November to April, but otherwise there is a continuous flow of people through the area. If I wanted to, I am sure that I would have no trouble renting the cabin out.

I have a cabin in the hill country of Texas and the White tail season starts the first of Oct and runs to almost February. There is day hunting around also that normally cost from $150 a day and up, I would guess that I could rent out my cabin and let folks hunt there for $750 to $1000 a week per person, I have four feed stations and with blinds, I don't rent my place out and will not as I have done things like this when I was young I am no longer young and don't want the hassle. The Hill Country in South Texas is like a touch of home to me

It depends on what game animal you have in mind. Whitetail deer is probably the most commonly sought after. Many States have very large population of deer.

In Illinois, various seasons start in October and go until early January. This covers archery, shotgun, muzzle-loading firearm and handgun. The premier County in Illinois for Whitetail deer is Pike County. That county is located on the western edge of Illinois in about the middle of the State. We have had a place there for almost 20 years and have taken 107 deer from our 40 acres. Most all hunting magazines will have an article about Pike County. Chicago businessmen are paying 3 thousand for a weekend bow-hunt in that area. Land there costs about 1400 per acre now. When we bought, it was 250.00

In general, the states in the southeast have quite long hunting seasons. Until recently, prices were low, but so was demand, as there were plenty of opportunities. That's less so now, so an investment could pay off.
