Guys,,, I've got an old Remington Model 12 .22 that has been handed down since my Great Grandfather gave it to my Grandpa when he was a boy. I was just cleaning it up, getting ready to give it to my son, (5 generations... kinda cool huh?), and started wondering how old it was. Serial # is 663602. It is stamped with both Remington Arms Co. INC., and Remington Arms U.M.C. CO. INC. Latest patent Date: April 16, 1912. If any of you guys like a challenge, let me know in your answer, I've got an old 1800's Belgian Damascus side by side 12 gauge I need some help with. The gun is in pretty nice shape, but the manufacturer's name is partially rubbed off.

i was wondering how often everyone cleans their guns. usually i clean the barrel, and wipe out the reciever after everytime i go shooting, and tear it down after every few times. sometimes i do not clean my guns if i have only shot a few rounds though. i use only non-corrosive, fmj, or plated bullets. is it ok, or should i clean them after every time shooting, no matter how many round i fire?(i own a ruger 10/22, norinco sks, and remington 870 12 ga.)

Which Caliber has the most penetration?
9mm, .40, or .357?
I also heard that the grain of the bullet effects penetration - does it penetrate more as the bullet gets heavier or lighter?

I think hunting as lost its roots..all these guys with guns and bows..now hunting Bambi with a sharpen stick in animal hides and stalking the prey would make it more of a man's game..or hobbie..or sport..it would give bams a chance for once..

i'm thinking about buying a handgun, mainly just for target shooting and plinking, also maybe home defence. nothing serious, i dont plan to enter any competitions, so it doesnt have to be the best gun(i wouldn't be looking at high-point if i was that serious). has anyone ever had any problems with high-point handguns? i know they have a poly frame, is it prone to cracking or anything? what do you think about the gun?

Hi! Can anyone refer me to a reputable supplier of tranquilizer guns? I'm working for a movie studio in the Philippines, and we can't seem to find ones "cinematic" enough We have no Great Cats here, you see, nor wild crocs, nor bears, so the vet suppliers don't stock them.
