Outdoor Recreation - February 2007

This question would probably be more for target shooters rather than hunters, all are welcome to answer of course.

Have you noticed when shooting the same distance (example 50 yards) and you traverse from a large bullseye, to a smaller bullseye, your groups improve? Why is this? When i shoot a 1" target I get 1/4 to 1/2 inch groups, if I shoot a 3 inch target, my groups grow to +1moa. This tells me it's me and obviously not my rifle, just curious as to why a smaller target forces greater accuracy, and if I'm the only one effected by this?

I was watching alot of Spec ops action and i noticed that in some instances they take time to install Suppressors. so i was wondering what the downside of having a suppressor on was, and why they dont just keep them on all the time.

I am a bow hunter and my eyes get tired after glassing longer than 15 minutes at a time. I want a good set of bino's for the next season. What can I look for in a set that will indicate the amount of strain that is put on your eyes when looking through them for long periods at a time?

Ages ago I went for picnic with friends in National Trust park, and before leaving I saw a kite in the garage and my grand-dad's old fishing gear. I took the kite and the fishing reel full of deep sea fishing line... and attached them........

When at the park the kite went up really high.... took all of the fishing line up in the air. Then this big jumbo jet came across to the sky (something I hadn't considered would happen) and I was genuinely worried for a few moments my kite was gonna get sucked in to engine.

Me (very blonde) complete with 5 yr old boy like to sit for hours (20mins) on the bank of a large lake stocked with lots of types of fish, and catch nothing! I want a Shotgun for home security and target practicing. I've got my eye out on a Mossberg 500 or the Maverick 88 Home security. I also have my eye on a Remington 870; their price is pretty high.
