I want a Shotgun for home security and target practicing. I've got my eye out on a Mossberg 500 or the Maverick 88 Home security. I also have my eye on a Remington 870; their price is pretty high.

Thanks in Advance.

I don't know how helpful a associate will be at walmart, the stores policy's and / managers are not very knowledgeable or helpful or friendly in my area of Michigan. Your best bet for good costumer service would be one of the sporting stores, cabala's or gander mountain, also dunhams sports had a add not to long ago for a Remington 870 in the mid two hundreds.

Ive owned both, mossberg and Remington, and they are both quality guns, I like the Remington more just because it is what I have trained on with my dept. and it is a little more heavy duty than the mossberg. Don't forget to check your local gun shops, deer season is over and they may have some good hardly used guns that may interest you, plus you get the added benefit of helping your local man and not some big national stores bottom line.

Go to any store that sells guns; you will be required to fill out a little bit of paperwork. If you are buying used from another person, no paperwork is needed for shotguns or rifles. The Remington 870 is a work horse; it won't let you down. I don't know much about the Mossbergs.

i know a few good places that wont take too long to get a shotgun in the lower peninsula. I would also sugest a pistol for home protection. A beretta 22 mag does good. it is a quick loader and it shoots fast. Also, it looks slick!
By the way, you still need to do some paperwork.
