It depends on what you are looking for, there are guides for every kind of disaster or problem you can think of! My three favorite Survival Guides are the "US Air Force Search & Rescue Survival Training" the "US Armed Forces Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Survival Manual" and "The Survival Guide" by Angelo Acquista. The Air Forces training manual is very detailed, covering everything from first aid to building shelters, finding food, maintaining good hygiene, etc. All three are great, but I think the Air Force manual is the most detailed and best all-around survival book. You can get it anywhere, ebay, amazon, barnes & noble, etc. Try your local bookstore, you can find a lot of survival guides pretty cheap (many on the clearance racks!) Hope that helps & Good Luck!

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

The U.S. Army, or Air Force has a few good guides that you can find for a good price. On the commercial side try Hoods Woods they have some great dvd's and specialize in differant areas.

I just finished watching a great TV show on Discovery Channel, which aires each week. Its called "Man vs Wild" and gives loads of survival information each week for different extreme conditions. On ocassion, they show a similar show called "Survivorman". I know it may not be what youre seeking but they are plumb full of survival techniques.
