I train in a mix of Moto Bu Ryu and other martial arts. But I was wondering if anyone knew more about the history and more of Moto Bu Ryu. All I know was that it was taught to strictly the Royal Okinawan family originally. Can you tell me anything more about it?

I have been doing MA for 3 yrs now and still have alot to learn. I pride myself in learning all I can both physically and mentally towards MA. A younger student that started a yr ago has just recieved the belt below mine and I feel resentment towards this young man for doing his best. Should I just doing the minimum to get the belt or should value MA as I have been doing. I have been doing kenpo jujitsu for those asking.

I have tried with both the Hepburn and Monbusho systems and jujutsu is the romanization that I come up with. Is there some archaic romanization system that I am not familiar with, or is it just a mistake?

Im sorry, but it makes me laugh to see people who have black belts in a martial arts feel that they are basically ninjas! lol

seriously, i have done tae kwon do, karate, hapkido, BJJ, MMA, kickboxing, premier martial arts and KRAV MAGA for many years.. and even i can see that just because you are a black belt does not mean you can take on anyone or that you're a ninja.. belts are so stupid.

I love how people are so conceded, but we all know if they got in a real fight... their survival instincts are gonna take over... unless you train everyday.. hard core... 110%

prepare yourself for phone cords, bats, knives, guns, sweat, fear, beating, broken bones, gangs, etc etc.. realize that there are no rules on the street... realize that anything can happen and that you can't "tap out" or call out "time"... realize that maybe your cheek will be ripped off and your nose will be broken.. a bullet in you leg. (is your black belt gonna mean anything?) NO!
belts don't mean anything.

Is there a restriction to specific martial art systems like Jiujitsu, judo, wrestling, boxing, muaythai at the UFC octagon? I wonder why we don't see any of the other martial arts systems of Korea, China, Japan and the Philippines in these matches? Dana White or anybody out there, if you have the answer...I'd really like to know. Thanks.

I know that kung fu originated in the Shaolin temple in Canton China and that karate in Okinowa. I heard that kung fu was first and that all the karates are a derivation. i am currently learning Wing Chun kung fu and had Shorin Rye karate in the past. And boy are they different.

does that training really help in a real-life fight ? I feel like the training assumes that you will only fight people who also practice martial arts , which is not true . For example , in real life someone might hit you on the head and just be done with you , instead of tediously exchanging punches and kicks and blocks with you
