I'm A samurai-Pirate by profession. I have swashbuckling pretty much down, but besides Kendo, and musashi's "two skies" fighting style, what martial arts do samurai-pirates learn?

now as all of u should know, it takes time to actualy register the movements into your head while fighting, ive been doing martial arts for about 1.5 yrs (half tkd and now shuai jiao and gung fu) when actualy defending yourself u actualy suprise urself with the techniques u have memorised maybe in shadow boxing or forms.

how long does it take for muscle memory to register the moves.

who else does shuai jiao and what style of shuai jiao do u do eg bao ding ect, what do u think of it

and sorry for the long winded question but why do techniques in judo only rely on the gi and not with limbs

thanks

If any one is truely interested in knowing more about Ninja or the art of Ninjutsu from a True Ninja, and know the real facts of the ninja rather than the False image in the world.

I noticed some artist's depictions of ninjas show them wielding samurai swords (oval haft) instead of ninja kens (square haft). Is this intentional or is it a lack of understanding? Do ninjas revere the samurai sword as a supreme weapon over their ninja kens?

Like the movie, "Bloodsport" starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. I'm wondering if there could have been one in Hong Kong, Beijing or another martial arts-esque place.

The modern kanji character for "kara" in Kara-te means "empty", the original charatcter used means "T'ang" , a Chinese dynasty at the time Karate was developed on Okinawa. Okinawan pronunciation of character was "To-de", in Japanese "Kara-te".

I'm really not sure what to give him. Sortof a "thank you" present, and a "we'll miss you" present, not anything like an "I love you" or a "Please don't go!!!" present. Something hopefully martial arts related, but nothing that would overdo it. I'm sure I'll see him again someday, just not through martial arts most likely. Any suggestions?

my freind who practises shotokan was just boasting on how his martial art was great (yeah i know Shotokan wtf lol) so i just said it depends on the practiconer and then he started to say my sifu and my art was crap and i said to him he crssed the line, then we gt into a brawl and me studying only about 4 lessons of shuai jiao nailed him to the floor with a throw.

i was laughing for a bit and decided to walk away

for all u judo guys why does so much of ur techniques involve the use of the gi. we use limbs and bones or watever we can grab and just throw them hard in shuai jiao

are there any shuai jiao guys here and it is the fore founder of judo and jiu jitsu

thanks

see i do taekwondo and my mum said "if you quit i don't give a damn im going to drag you by the hair to the lessons if i have to!" when i first began i had this plan to leave when im maybe at black or red with black stripe (the one before black at my dojang) to pursue a different martial art that encourages more aerial and tricky sorts of moves because i want to do XMA but people keep telling me that ill probably find that through my training ill be able to do this kind of stuff should i believe the people that say this or not and yes i know XMA is not a martial art

kinda like what batman uses sometimes, I've probably seen it in some kung fu movie too. But basically those weapons where they have weights on both ends of some string and they throw it at a person and it wraps around their legs etc.. tripping them or whatnot.
