I think Jim gave you a pretty good selection if he has your style correct!

Using something from the styles symbol would look cool. I have a Shotokan Tiger on my arm.

Hi there

I have tattoos relating to the arts. Here's my advice but most of it applies to all tattoos in general.

Firstly make sure they are out of sight. I know this sounds silly but people will judge you by your body art so make sure it cant be seen. After all its personal to you. This is really important if you ever go to Japan to train. Be prepared to cover them with plasters if you do.

Secondly try and pick Kanji that is related to your art or the Bushido way. Don't go for the modern letter type kanji. Pick the old ones that have different meanings. And stay well clear of club names and logos. That's nearly as bad as having the wife's name on your back.

I also liked Ray H answer. It made me hungry.lol

Best wishes

PS: If it's Japanese symbols, never put in symbols like "death" unless you are prepared to die quickly. Also, when you ask for Japanese symbol tattoo from a non-Japanese guy, becareful. I know some guy that wished for a symbol meaning "courage" or "bravery" but he got a symbol meaning "Pervert" instead. The store owner thought that it meant courage but.....Well, it was hilarious for me but it was hell for my friend. Some places knows but some of them aren't too sure with the meaning.

just a suggestion. Dependant on what art you practice.

Why not get the name of the art tattooed on your body. I had the japanese symbols for aikido tattooed on my left forearm and it looks really cool. otherwhise get a symbol regarding your art. I know many capoeirista that have a berimbau (musical instrument used in capoeira) tattooed on their body
never saw one I didn't like
