Baseball - October 2007

Bear with me if this is the 100th time that this has been asked. I am new to this category.

Does anyone else agree with me concerning this statement:

The all-star game's outcome should have absolutely NO bearing on who gets home-field advantage in the World Series.

Think about it: What if a team wins 105 games and goes to the World Series.....and plays a team who won 85 games (i.e the 87 Twins).....and loses the home field advantage because of a stupid all-star game? That team worked hard all season long to get those 105 wins......they deserve the home-field advantage.

What was the league thinking by doing this????

Your thoughts please

I think his most effective pitch was the two seem fastball. Did you see how it cut back over the plate against left handed hitters? Great pitching performance! Your thoughts.

Assistant GM John Mozeliak will be the interim GM as the Cards front office looks for a replacement. Jocketty and DeWitt didn't see eye-to-eye for awhile apparently...

Jocketty had a history of making moves that paid off ala Mark McGwire, Jeff Weaver, Edgar Renteria, etc. but this past season signed Adam Kennedy and Kip Wells...two moves that turned out to be disappointing.

Are other Americans this stupid minded to place foolish bets? Maybe that reason jobs are going overseas to well deserving country men who are smart minded and work hard?

In my home country gay baseball players are not allowed. Georgie Porgie, you would not be allowed to play baseball in my home country because you would be distracted by your lust for men in tight pants. Am I right?

If the bases are occupied. 2-3 on, The stadium is crazy and the pitcher throws a pitch that does not reach the plate what happens? Say 3 feet in front. What if the batter swings?

Beckett pitched a great game I'm not saying he didnt. However the Angels were swinging at pitches that were FEET out of the strike zone not just inches. I know the halos are aggressive but that was ridiculous. No wonder the Sox always beat them they know you can throw the ball into the stands and they will swing

Why doesn't this man do national games and stuff? This man is th only reason I can tolerate watching a Dodgers home game. He's simply the best broadcaster out there today. Nothing would make me happier than for him to call the World Series every year. Much better than those TBS idiots and Joe Buck.

Considering 4 teams out of 5 weren't eliminated until the last week of the season and each had 82 wins or above including 3 and teams playing a game at least in the post season (San diego vs colorado one game to determine wild card)

Also I read somewhere that the MLB world series last year drew the lowest ratings in the past 25 years or something and that St. Louis is a small market team

wtf? i thought St. Louis was a crazy baseball city...isn't it?

Is it just me or do the TBS commentators seem to be Arizona biased? They get all excited when Arizona hits homeruns and stuff, but the Cubs, they haven't gotten very excited about when they got their one homerun and have had their hits.

Why on EARTH didn't Aramis Ramirez run to first on that wild-pitch strike out? He stood there watching, and the announcers never even mentioned it. Bizarre.

I do Many People will disagree saying " how can they be with that Payroll and other crap " This Year they had to Battle just to Be In the PostSeason i just feel they are because the following reason

1. They only have 2 Starters who you actually can depend on

2. Only 2 guys in the BullPen who Cant actually Preserve and Save the game

3. The Yankees are the Wild Card They dont play the Firsat games at home , Wild Card teams are undedogs because there in the wild card Postion

But with all that said i love being an underdog , it Means we have to Prove More , but When do prove were the Best its just a great Emotion
