Beckett pitched a great game I'm not saying he didnt. However the Angels were swinging at pitches that were FEET out of the strike zone not just inches. I know the halos are aggressive but that was ridiculous. No wonder the Sox always beat them they know you can throw the ball into the stands and they will swing

The thing about Beckett is he throws so many strikes that hitters anticipate the ball to be in the strike zone ever pitch. Also hitter try to swing early in the count because you don't want to fall behind Beckett.

Yeah, it looked like they were just taking swings in the dark. They only got 4 hits, and Beckett at one point retired 17 straight. The offense also looked really good for the Red Sox, despite batting against Angel's best pitcher, Jon Lackey. I say they take the series in 4 games, that is if they start to gain momentum.

when a pitcher is so dominant as beckett u have to swing to bad pitches or the umpire is going to call them strikes. most of the pitches are breaking pitches that fool the batters

When a pitcher has electric stuff, like Beckett had last night, he can make a hitter look real bad. When a pitcher is that good you just tip your cap to him and come back to play another day.
