Considering 4 teams out of 5 weren't eliminated until the last week of the season and each had 82 wins or above including 3 and teams playing a game at least in the post season (San diego vs colorado one game to determine wild card)

Also I read somewhere that the MLB world series last year drew the lowest ratings in the past 25 years or something and that St. Louis is a small market team

wtf? i thought St. Louis was a crazy baseball city...isn't it?

The NL west was the best division in the NL this year, but most years the nl west champ gets beat in the first round looks like this year will be different. But the nl west is not the best in baseball. The nl is not very good, the 4 best teams are all in the american league. As far as st. louis it is a big baseball town but not a huge TV market. The ws last year got bad ratings because both teams were from lets say medium markets. They need the cubs, yanks, red sox, dodgers etc... in the series for good tv ratings not only because of the teams big markets but they have a national following they are the teams with alot of fans all over the country

The play-in game between San Diego and Colorado is game 163 of the regular season, not a post-season game.

I believe the NL west is the best and most competitive division is baseball, and finishing at 31 games over .500 it proves to be true. I agree with you they deserve more respect than they get but we will never see that occur.

i admire the greater youthful Diamondbacks team to marvel everyone and take it. Plus, if my Mets ended up dealing with the West champs i think of they had have it much less complicated against the DBacks. stressful to guess against the pitching staffs of the Padres and Dodgers however.
