What people seem to forget that when ruth, tedd williams, mays, dimaggio played the season was 154 games. That's 8 games less than the current 162 games. If you do the math a player who played 20 seasons in 1920's-30's-40's-50's played 160 games less than a player who played 20 season after the schedule was changed to 162 games. Just imagine Ruth could had put up another 40, 45 or maybe 50 more homeruns in his career. Anybody agress?

I really hate this. The AL always wins the allstar game. They should go back to having the team with the better record host the WS. Anyone else with me?

a few times in Hall of fame history only one person has been inducted and while i agree Tony Gwynn is deserving. do you think he is deserving on a first time vote as ripken is? as there are so many who deserving of even a vote in that have been repeatedly passed over. your opinions/arguments for either position on this are appreciated.

Alot of teams today have a ***** Leagues day that they play a game honoring the players who never were given the right to play in a professional baseball game.
Would it be right for a white guy to wear a jersey or a hate honoring them. Or would it just be like throwing gas on a flame, that people would prefer to not remember.
I wish that I could, but don't know if it is wrong for me to.
Thanks.

Sorry, I am not a real baseball fan, but starting to get there. I am a statistics and number guy though, and I see some things that don't seem right. Such as a pitcher having 5 shut out innings, then a couple of pitchers after him give up a couple of runs, then one pitcher pitches one inning with no runs or hits and is given the win. What sense does this make. I am not complaining, I just want to understand how you can pitch a shut out for more than half a game and lose out on the win to a guy that pitched one good inning. I don't get it, please educate me.

Was this a good call to bring the center fielder to the infield just behind second base?

I've seen shallowing the outfield a lot in this situation, but not so much the 5 infielder setup (seems like a little league defense). It seems like that you have two choices, take away the bloop shot in the outfield (shallow the outfield) or take away the passed groundball (the 5th infielder).

Help me out with the pros and cons of the defensive setup and what the best call would be in this situation. I'm mostly trying to evaluate the Reds new manager.
