It is pretty shocking but it's not like he had an awesome track record with the team. I liked him for some reason but maybe because I was used to seeing him there. I'll still miss Lou more. The bigger question is how surprised is everyone that the M's are doing this well? I live in DC so I don't get a lot of M's coverage. It's sad because they are the surprise team of the season. I guess it's also good to play the "they came out of nowhere" card too.

Managers come and go and it is sad when a good manager decides to hang it up. Hargrove says he is done and will not return to baseball which would be a loss for baseball fans.

as an oriole fan who still believes had he been given another yr in baltimore that he could have taken the team far. i am not only saddened but shocked.though i know it can happen to people that they just suddenly realize its time to hang it up. i am shocked as well and hope that for him it is a just as he said and there were no other reasons for his leaving.
