The Cubs have gone 98 years without a World Series championship, so they are up there.

The Phillies have 10,000 losses, so they are up there, too.

Possibly the biggest losers in baseball history are the Cleveland Spiders. 20-134, 84 games out of first place in 1899. The team being gutted by an owner who owned 2 teams (the other being the St. Louis Perfectos, who won only 3 more games than the Spiders). For these and other reasons, they are considered the biggest losers in baseball history.

Everyone is the biggest loser, as well, in the same breath being the biggest winner.

There is some fascination with labelling people as winners or losers.

I can make an arguement that there are absolutely no winners in baseball.
No one has more success than failure.

Batter that fail 66% of the time are considered great hitters.

Then again, they are getting paid millions for playing a game, so they are winners (and the fans are the losers there because we are paying them millions to play a game)

All time, the Phillies have lost 10,001 games. A major league record and a franchise record for any major sport in the US.

The single season worst was the Cleveland Spiders 1899 who lost 134 games . Thier record (20-134) was also the worst winning percentage in baseball history. (Cy Young once played for this team)

The 62 Mets lost 120 games which is the 2nd most losses but only the 4th worst winning percentage.
