Baseball - July 2007

I mean Bronson is a decent pitcher, however in my opinion he has only had one solid season in his career and that was last year. No way is he worth Saltalamacchia. Are they friggin' out of their mind? He would be a good pickup for the Braves in their back-end rotation but definitely not worth offensive power like Salty. Bronson is NOT worth top tier prospects. Definitely not. The Braves could get a waaaay better pitcher, otherwise no deal. I'm not interested in the Braves selling the future for crappy pitchers.

I bought a book the otehr day called the Stark Truth. In the book he lists the most overrated and underrated at each position of all time. Do you agree with his choices? He listed 1-5 for each position but I dont have enough room to write them all down.

a few weeks ago I simply asked if Ryan Braun was elligible for ROY, and I got blasted with a bunch Hunter Pence answers;

OK a few weeks have gone by and Braun has caught and surpassed the skinny CF on that senior citizen home of a team.

If he gets the AB's, I think he will be ROY (team record could play into it), what do all of you say?

A man that ruined his own liver and entertained you (and other sports fans) for decades. Yes, he is surly and a social idiot, but at worst all he did was be rude to reporters.

I would say that it was a good trade for the Sox because I don't think that the White Sox could have won the World Series without Podsednik, but recently, Carlos Lee has been playing great while Podsednik has been sitting on the DL almost every month.

is the game over even if the runner on first was just watching the play at the plate instead of tagging up himself? Or can the catcher now throw it to first and get the runner originally at first out to end the inning without the run that score counting?

I mean, Everybody hates him because he is allegedly a 'cheater', (which I don't understand how he can be a cheater if he actually hit each homerun), but haven't a majority of baseball players been known to take some kind of enhancing supplement one time or another.

So what is the big deal? Nobody hates Mark McGuire and it was clearly proven that he took steriods.
