He's getting the job done. That's all that matters. It's gotten to the point where I can just blow off whatever he says. Jim Leyland is doing a great job maintaining a cool and calm clubhouse. The players love what Sheffield has brought to this team, and they are responding accordingly.

This is nothing new for Sheffield, he has run off his mouth his entire baseball career. He has a tendency to speak before he thinks. I understand he is a good teammate and he gets along, as good as could be expected, with Leland. Therefore, I don't believe most Tiger fans would have a problem with him as long as he continues to put up those impressive numbers.

the tigers have great chemistry and look up to him on the field. They supported him when he made that comment about latino's being easier to control.
With a manager like leyland, and the success that they are having, i dont imagine him ever becoming a big distraction.
Sheffield is having a monster year, and thats all that matters to me as a tigers fan

If I were a Tiger fan and his mouth was distracting the club I would be mad. But it doesn't appear to be doing that so I don't see a reason why. I agree with the first answerer, he needs a slap in the face.
