who would you want on your team now if they were in there prime. also how do the players of the 80's rate against the players of today?

Carlton would win 20+ today as easily as in the 80's

Love to have Steve Carlton on the Mets of today. Pete Rose is a close second -- no one played with more heart than he did.

I starred this question. Those are all great players, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with Carlton. As the saying goes, you can never be too rich, or too thin, or have too much good pitching.

All but Pete. He's not trustworthy. He could hit when no one was on base, yet strike out with runners in scoring position.

If i had to pick just one... geez is tough to leave Johnny Bench on the bench. The catcher calls the ballgame... that's important.

pete rose. hitting machine. and they were better just didnt have steroids.
