Right now im thinking of one manager in particular, let me tell u what he did. First the guy has as many closers as starters! And when i offered him something for one of his closers he countered with Brad Lidge for Johan Santana! Then he has 3 2nd basemen who all 3 are expected to hav decent years this year (Cano, Kinsler, and Weeks), now thats not where i hav the problem, my problem is instead of trading one of them, he dropped weeks for Jake Westbrook instead of getting a better pitcher out of it with a trade! Now the only reason i hav a problem with this is cause, he has a bad team with no chance of winning (4 of his offensive starters are Taveras, Baldelli, Huff and Aurilia) but at least he could take some good players from other teams to even it out a bit. Why are some people so cluless?

IMO, some current players would be Pujols and A. Jones, some all-time players would be Ted Williams and Lou Gehrig and the only current AND all-time players are Mo Rivera and DE-REK!!! JE-TER!!!

i see alot of comments by red sox fans about the yankees payroll blah blah blah or yankees not being loyal to thier players...... the red sox should be in the same category...maybe even worst.....your entire roster is full of free agents or ppl not from your system...your 2004 championship was much like the florida marlins of 1997... u bought it..ur trying again to do that...

ppl forget we didnt buy derek jeter he was home grown..same as bernie,rivera,pettitte,posada....also they dont actually pay the full contract of arod, texas is still paying a good amount of it...

and u can say how the yankees arent loyal to thier players like bernie.... well same can be said for the red sox with nomar garciaparra.. the players i mentioned b4 like jeter ext... have been in the yankees for 10 years.. who in the red sox have been there that long?!?!

your best players were from free agency..schilling,ramirez,ortiz...

On my baseball team I am a younger kid, and the coach asked me where I play, so I told him 1st base. When he gave us positions, he put me in right field which is a problem because i am slow and it is hurting the team.

Ripken, played through with injuries and bruises and was only hurting the team. He mentions that his approach to the game was that every player should come to the ballpark willing to put himself in the hands of the mgr. Which is true, but if there were no streak going I'm sure his name would have been omitted from the starting lineup while he was hurt. With the streak going they didn't dare sit, Ripken. Also, (as far as I'm concerned) a player in order to get credit for playing a game should at least play five innings, which Ripken didn't do in many games. But, hey, don't get me wrong; I will always think Ripken was an excellent player, only he doesn't deserve this title I'm talking about. Any comments?
