Why is it that nascar with all it's millions can't come up with rules that can be enforced prior to a race? It's got to stop. Get out of the office's and fix it. The fines are becoming bigger news than the results.

He drove too agressive. He spun out Kurt and almost spun out Jimmie Johnson.

What do you think about the rookie racer??

P.S. when he's in victory lane he can at least act like he's excited. who agrees?

I am a Jimmy Johnson fan and a casual nascar fan (and please don't say I'm jumping on his bandwagon cause i've been his fan since 2004), but it appears there are way to many cheating incidents this year. Has it always been this way and I don't know enough about nascar to know that?

I just read that Jeff Gordon got fined 100 driver points,100,000 dollars, and crew chief suspended 6 races. Is that not the end of the season? All I'm asking is if this was someone in 20th place in points would the penalty be the same? I doubt it... Nascar has gotten so BS it is unbelievable...

I knew the final race was close but didn't know it was that close to my due date. I hope I have baby before the show on Sun. This going to be exciting if I have my baby the same week as the final race in the chase for the cup. Now only if Jeff Burton wins or does super well during the chase it'll be great.
I just wanted to share this with you. LOL. Hope you don't mind.

The way I see it, if the drivers would be suspended too, then the crew chiefs and pit crews would learn not to go into areas of the COT Car. Why are they getting of so easy when it was intentionally done. So what if they have to pay money and lose points. Losing the crew chief is nothing, they should have been suspended too.

I would think an intentional infraction would deserve more punishment than a genuine mistake. And even Chad admits that he was intentionally altering his COT cars. So what gives?

Gordon and Johnson lose 100 points, crew chiefs suspended, $100,000 fines, its pretty much the same as Jr.'s penalty a while back
i think its fair, but what do you think?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were docked 100 points each Tuesday, and their crew chiefs were both fined $100,000 and suspended for six races for violations at Infineon Raceway.

The two Hendrick Motorsports cars failed inspection Friday in Sonoma, Calif., and NASCAR refused to let either driver on the track the rest of the day. The cars were altered, passed inspection Saturday and allowed to race Sunday. Gordon, the four-time series champion, finished seventh while defending Nextel Cup champion Johnson was 17th.

Gordon remains the Nextel Cup points leader after the deduction, but his margin was cut to 171 points over Denny Hamlin. Johnson dropped from third to fifth.

But both will have to race through the summer without their crew chiefs. Chad Knaus and Steve Letarte are not eligible to return to the track until Aug. 15.

The crew chiefs also were placed on probation through the end of the year.

How could anyone now deny that those teams don't cheat?
Chad Knaus is the biggest cheating crew chief in nascar.

I read in Jayski.com that kentucky speedway and nascar may settle a lawsuit by nascar awarding the track a cup race. Can anyone verify if this is true? Oh, and Las Vegas getting a second cup race.

at a Nascar Race?
I took my little boy to a Bristol race, he dressed up in a Gordon jumpsuit (sigh. .. .lol) he looked so cute. The fans at the track were incredible with him, taking picture of him, calling him Jeff and asking for autographs, lol. He really thought they all thought he was Gordon :). Watching him put his hand over his heart for the pledge and his facial expressions. He never sat down through the whole race, never asked for a drink or anything. . .he hollered the whole time. . . One of the best days of my life. =)

I dont thin he shoud be because he has driven on road courses and now that he won a race should he be calle a NASCAR driver or does he haft to win on an ovel first and is he a better road course racer than jeff gordon.

2007-06-26 06:05:48 · 25 answers · asked by bravesmanic 2 in NASCAR

I think there should be a road course. The chase has a short track, a superspeedway, flat tracks and the fastest mid tracks, why not have a road course race? The championship should be won by the best driver on all the different types of race tracks, not just ones where you turn left. What do you think?
