I absolutely agree! It almost makes you think, maybe Chad Knaus doesn't think Jimmy can do it on his own. How sad.
Go RCR!!!!

It's not cheating when you put it out there in the open for everyone to see. They weren't trying to hide anything from anybody as they felt it was a gray area not specifically covered in the rules. The front fender modification was discovered during the inspection before the first practice just as they anticipated. Now they, and everybody else knows that you cannot do that. Chad Knaus is presently the greatest crew chief in NASCAR and is always going to stay a step or 2 ahead of the others. Granted he will get in trouble every once in awhile for pushing the envelope but I wouldn't want it any other way. All you bitter haters say what you want but he will always lead in areas your crew chief will follow. This is by no means the worst infraction this year but because it happened with HMS drivers all of you are blowing it way out of proportion.

lol you people don't give up do you? They don't "cheat". Never have and never will. No team in NASCAR "cheats". Either that or they ALL "cheat". They just didn't know exactly how serious NASCAR was when they said to not mess with the COT. They do now, and everyone else does too. So give it up. Besides, the reason they are getting penalized is because of a rule that isn't even in the rule book. It is a rule made up by NASCAR on the spot when the cars were in inspection.

Hey dumbass, where is your arguement. that is a pretty strong statement to make when you don't back it up. They got caught with the COT not jiving with templates. How does that transfer over to the monte carlo? Wait, you do know that they haven't switched full time to the cot yet and they have won races with the previous car. You probably didn't. I'm betting you are one of those people who doesn't know anything about racing, which is apparent by your arguement or lack of arguement. You have probably just watch a few laps, see something on the internet and pretend you a genius on the subject. Do some research, have a take, and don't suck.

Every competitor, team, athlete, crew chief will do what it takes to win. Some take steroids, some modify their cars, and some have gone as far as biting their opponents ears off! What happened in Sonoma was that team tried to find that edge to win. I don't like the 48 or 24 teams but they are the best teams out there cause they have found that edge that the other teams have not. Most of all are within in the rules.

This is not some stupid stick and ball sport.
Learn your history. NASCAR today has embarked on its strictest rules enforcement program ever. Seeking a competitive advantage is the essence of motor racing; all successful teams seek the best advantages.
The rules do not cover every scenario and if a team can evade them they should and will.

Did Gordon race with an illegal car? You have mistaken post-race inspection with pre-race inspection.Even if we assume they were trying to "cheat" as you say they didnt.Their cars passed a secondary inspection and Jeff still came in 7th from 41st.So no they didnt cheat and the results probably still bummed you out.

they dont cheat, you are just jealous that ur driver isnt as great as them. NASCAR doesnt really specify what all you can change on the COT, and thats why they got into trouble. if you read Rick Hendricks statement to NASCAR you would realize that.
